Dr. Preciosa Martinez-Motta is a key member of Solara’s Research and Innovation team, contributing her multidisciplinary expertise to advance evidence-based nutrition and health solutions. With professional training spanning biology, nursing, and dietetics, she brings a uniquely integrative perspective to human health and behavior. Her work centers on translating scientific insights into practical, person-centered approaches that support metabolic health, psychological well-being, and sustainable behavior change. At Solara, Dr. Martinez-Motta supports the evaluation of emerging research, the development of science-backed strategies, and the integration of behavioral and physiological evidence to inform next-generation nutraceutical innovations.
Dr. Martinez-Motta joins Solara Labs with a strong research foundation rooted in behavioral nutrition, mindfulness-based interventions, and nutrition-related health disparities. She earned her Ph.D. in Dietetics and Nutrition from Florida International University (FIU), where she also completed advanced graduate training as a Registered Dietitian and Registered Nurse. Her doctoral work investigated the effects of a mindfulness-based program on eating behaviors and stress among Hispanic bariatric patients, integrating principles of psychological flexibility, intuitive eating, and stress reduction. She later completed a postdoctoral fellowship on an NIH-funded R01 project examining how soluble fiber influences bone mass in children and adolescents, further strengthening her expertise in clinical research and nutrition science.
Recognized for her academic and professional contributions, Dr. Martinez-Motta frequently serves as an invited speaker at interprofessional workshops and seminars and has published in peer-reviewed outlets. As a faculty member in the Department of Dietetics and Nutrition at FIU, she teaches undergraduate and graduate students while mentoring future practitioners and researchers. She remains committed to advancing inclusive, evidence-driven approaches that support health and well-being, with a continued focus on improving outcomes among underrepresented populations.
