Tim entered the natural products industry after a consulting career at McKinsey & Company and military service as a submarine officer in the US Navy. 

He joined Solara in 2013, first leading the launch of BariMelts®, a line of supplements specially designed for patients having undergone bariatric procedures (weight loss surgery).

His latest efforts include co-founding and launching the Renzo’s® line of children’s vitamins, a healthier alternative to high-sugar gummy vitamins and created in honor of Dr. Rocca’s son, Renzo.

He also supports Solara’s business development efforts, securing supply and licensing agreements with companies ranging from upstart brands to the consumer divisions of top pharmaceutical companies.

His first role in the industry was at ChromaDex where he helped launch the company’s first branded product line.  He later led the IP licensing and early manufacturing scale-up for the branded ingredient NIAGEN®, the NAD+ precursor nicotinamide riboside.

At McKinsey, Tim advised Fortune 100 clients in the food, beverage, and agriculture space.  In the Navy he deployed on nuclear-powered attack submarines and received an Admiral’s medal for leadership during operations post-9/11.  

He has a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD and an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
